In reaction to the epistemic authoritarianisms of hacks like “I am the science” Fauci our people suffer from two emotional reactions: A free floating skepticism towards all science paired with a credulity towards bizarre pseudo-science (laetrile, homeopathy, Flat Earth “theory,” etc.) Of course the hogwash called post-modernism helped to dumb down generations who now can barely understand the notion of objectivity.
